Whistleblower: Trump's agents told to break state laws for voter hunt

Original version ·

Turns out federal agents are allegedly being forced to play identity thief just to prove the boss's favorite conspiracy theory.

So, a whistleblower just dropped a massive complaint, and it is a doozy. Apparently, agents at USCIS were told to stop their actual jobs and spend their days hunting for non-citizens voting in elections. The catch? They are allegedly being forced to break state laws to get the data they need.

The instructions are wild: agents are told to pose as the actual voters on state websites to scrape personal records. They have a quota to churn through 40 people a day. That gives them exactly 12 minutes per person to decide if someone is a legitimate citizen or a fraud. The kicker is that they are using DHS data that they already admit is totally unreliable.

It is essentially a state-sponsored speed-run of identity theft to manufacture evidence where none exists. If the front door is locked, Trump apparently just hires someone to pick the lock.

Wait, so they are committing identity theft to find identity thieves? The irony is physically painful.
