Night 12 of U.S. and Iran trading strikes is turning into a regional mess
Day twelve of middle east fireworks: the U.S. Navy is enforcing a harbor blockade while military bases in Kuwait and Jordan try to catch incoming drones.
We’re now on night twelve of U.S. forces pounding Iranian military targets, and it turns out night twelve looks pretty much like nights one through eleven, except everything is getting weirder. CENTCOM says they’ve been blowing up missile storage, coastal radars, and air defenses while running a full naval blockade on Iranian ports—turning back commercial ships and even shooting one up to stop it from leaving.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard claims they clapped back hard, dropping drones and rockets on U.S. operations in Kuwait and Jordan. They’re bragging about destroying high-tech radar systems and setting fuel tanks on fire, though local air defenses in Jordan and Kuwait insist they shot down most of the incoming hardware before it could do real damage.
The official U.S. body count stands at 18 dead and nearly 450 wounded, but the Pentagon admits the injury numbers are lagged by weeks for security reasons.
All of this is unfolding while Trump just spent the morning on the tarmac receiving another batch of fallen American troops returning home in flag-draped coffins.
It is impressive how degrading enemy capabilities always seems to require an endless supply of fresh targets.
