U.S. and Iran actually agreed on something, and the Strait of Hormuz is reopening

Original version ·

So, the world didn't end today. In a plot twist absolutely nobody saw coming, the U.S. and Iran just shook hands on a deal to stop fighting and reopen one of the most stressful shipping lanes on Earth.

We’ve been watching the Middle East burn and global shipping prices go into absolute orbit, and then suddenly—boom. A peace deal. The big prize here is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, which is basically the world's main artery for oil.

They literally just agreed to stop shooting and start shipping again.

Of course, because this is global politics, the U.S. and Iran didn’t actually solve any of the hard, deeply rooted issues that started this mess in the first place. They basically just put those in a folder labeled 'deal with this later' and called it a day.

But hey, at least gas prices might stop treating bank accounts like a personal punching bag.
