Ukraine Flies Drones 600 Miles Deep into Tatarstan to Hit an Oil Refinery

Original version ·

If anyone in Moscow thought being 600 miles away from the front line meant safe refining, Kyiv just delivered a rather loud correction.

Ukrainian long-range strike drones just took a casual 600-mile road trip past Moscow straight into Nizhnekamsk in Tatarstan. The main prize was the massive Taneco oil refinery, courtesy of Ukrainian FP-1 strike drones manufactured by Fire Point.

The Russian defense ministry claimed it shot down an astounding 456 drones across 16 regions, yet regional governor Rustam Minnikhanov was still left declaring official mourning and blaming Western backing. Meanwhile, Russian forces responded with heavy shelling against residential quarters in Kharkiv and border areas, hitting civilian homes as usual.

Distance clearly does not mean what it used to on the modern battlefield.
