Weekend nightlife in Tucson and Minneapolis ended with 19 people shot
Going out on a Saturday night shouldn’t require body armor, but apparently nobody told the shooters in Arizona and Minnesota.
It was supposed to be a standard Saturday night out, but instead, two major entertainment districts on opposite sides of the country turned into chaotic crime scenes within hours of each other.
Over in Tucson, police on foot patrol heard gunshots ring out around 2 AM. They ran straight into the crowd and spotted a guy with a gun. After he ignored several very clear orders to drop it, an officer shot him. Ten people ended up injured, including the suspect himself.
Meanwhile, up in Minneapolis, another shooter decided to open fire outside a nightclub in the trendy Uptown district. Nine people were shot there, leaving a chaotic mess of fleeing crowds and emergency sirens.

Naturally, local politicians are already pointing fingers. Tucson Mayor Regina Romero wasted no time blaming Arizona’s notoriously relaxed gun laws, while gun safety advocate Gabby Giffords expressed her familiar heartbreak over yet another tragedy in her hometown.
It is truly remarkable how a casual night out for drinks now apparently requires tactical situational awareness.
