Trump Wants Zelensky to Stop Blowing Up Russian Gas Stations
While golfing in Ireland, Donald Trump had a bit of advice for Volodymyr Zelensky: keep the missiles coming, but maybe leave the diesel refineries alone.
It seems the global diesel shortage is hitting everyone’s nerves, including the former president’s. Donald Trump took a break from his golf game to suggest that Volodymyr Zelensky should probably stop targeting Russian fuel infrastructure because it is messing with world prices.
The argument is simple: Trump thinks those refineries are too important to the global market, even as the war rolls on. He’s basically asking for a surgical strike policy that saves the gas pumps while leaving the rest of the war infrastructure on the table.
Critics like Garry Kasparov are already pointing out the obvious irony: it is hard to ask for energy stability when the war itself is the primary source of the chaos. Apparently, the plan is to save the diesel, regardless of who is burning down whom.
It is certainly one way to approach a geopolitical crisis: ask the guy under constant attack to kindly stop making the global energy market uncomfortable. Let that sink in.
