Trump Wants to Put 'Warning Labels' on Smithsonian History

Original version ·

Because apparently, museum exhibits now need spoiler alerts for history.

Donald Trump has officially ordered the Smithsonian to slap warning labels on their exhibits. The White House claims the museum has turned into a hub for political activism, pushing a radical social justice agenda instead of just sticking to the facts.

The whole thing started after a government review accused the museum of trying to rewrite the American story to fit a specific ideology. Now, the Department of the Interior is on the hook to pay for these new warning signs that will tell visitors exactly what the administration thinks is 'inaccurate' or 'biased' about the displays.

It is one thing to debate history in a classroom, but it is another to have the government treat a national museum like a problematic social media post. Apparently, the past is now subject to editorial oversight by the executive branch.
