Trump calls off the big boom to play negotiator with Iran again
Just when you thought the world was about to catch fire, the golf weekend gets interrupted by some last-minute diplomacy.
So, Trump was hanging out at his golf club, all set to launch what he’s calling the biggest attack since the big one in the 40s. Then, his buddies in the region—Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar—jumped on the phone to basically say, 'maybe chill for a second.'
Apparently, Mohammad bin Salman convinced him that things might get a little too unpredictable if he hits the button. So, instead of a massive military strike, we’re back to the conference table on Monday. The whole pivot from 'imminent destruction' to 'let’s talk shipping lanes' happened over a weekend golf trip.
It’s the classic high-stakes cycle: build up to an explosion, get talked down by allies at the last second, and promise a deal is just around the corner.
