Donald Trump Promises to Hit Iran Hard as Regional Sparks Fly

Things are heating up in the Middle East and the rhetoric is getting loud.

It started with some mines in the Strait of Hormuz and a little back-and-forth between the U.S. military and Iranian forces. Now, after a strike on a base in Jordan, Donald Trump is on Fox News making it very clear that the response is going to be heavy.

Meanwhile, Iran is lobbing drones at bases in the United Arab Emirates and bragging about it, while global oil prices decided they absolutely had to jump 3% just to make sure everyone is paying attention. It is a classic geopolitical domino effect: someone moves a mine, someone else launches a missile, and everyone’s gas bill goes up.

The world is watching a high-stakes standoff where the only guarantee is more expensive fuel and a lot of posturing.
