Trump decides the Strait of Hormuz is basically American property now
Because apparently, international maritime law is just a suggestion, Donald Trump has officially added a new zip code to the map.
In the latest episode of mapping as he pleases, Donald Trump(male) decided the Strait of Hormuz—a tiny, incredibly important waterway thousands of miles away—is now American territory. Iran is predictably not amused, with their foreign ministry calling it a mix of delusions and a weird, colonial throwback. Meanwhile, oil prices are jumping around because, well, calling a major global shipping artery your own backyard tends to stress the markets out.
