Trump Administration Asks Supreme Court to Revive Trans Military Ban
The Pentagon is back at it, trying to convince the Supreme Court that keeping qualified service members off the roster is somehow a national priority.
A federal appeals court previously called the military's push to discharge transgender troops "arbitrary and based upon animus," but the current administration clearly isn't taking that for an answer. They’ve officially appealed to the Supreme Court, arguing that the military needs the authority to decide exactly who gets to wear the uniform—even if it means firing people who are already meeting every standard.
The administration’s lawyers are framing this as a matter of "exceptional importance," while critics point out that we’re talking about kicking out highly trained, decorated troops. It turns out, when you strip away the legal jargon, the courts are still looking at this and seeing a policy driven by a plain, old-fashioned desire to harm a group people just don't like.
It’s wild how much taxpayer cash is being funneled into a legal fight just to show people the door. Sometimes the best defense is apparently just firing your own best players.
