Supreme Court approval hits record low as conservative voters turn on them
It turns out ruling both for and against Donald Trump in the same term makes everyone mad.
The Supreme Court managed to piss off virtually the entire country, bringing its public approval rating down to an all-time low of 33%. Democrats and independents already disliked the conservative bench, but the latest nose-dive came almost entirely from Republicans.
That is what happens when a conservative supermajority tries to play balanced umpire. They gave Donald Trump big wins on expanding executive authority to fire agency officials and restricting transgender athletes, but then turned around and trashed his unilateral tariffs, blocked his birthright citizenship order, and stopped him from booting Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve.
Trying to please both sides in a hyper-polarized country ended up alienating everyone. Democrats still view the court as overly partisan, while Republicans are furious that the justices refused to hand Trump a total blank check.
Nothing unites modern America quite like collective disappointment in the nation's highest court.
