They teamed up with the Liberty Justice Center to file a lawsuit, arguing that the administration is basically just playing musical chairs with legal statutes.
The government claims these 10-12.5% taxes are all about stopping forced labor. But the plaintiffs point out a glaring issue: the U.S. Trade Representative didn't actually provide any real reasoning for the move. It’s like the third time the administration has tried to force these broad taxes through, acting as if they have a blank check to tax anything from anywhere.
The law is apparently not just a suggestion, even for a president.
Watching the executive branch try to bypass Congress like it's a minor inconvenience is becoming a national sport.
