The Pentagon just got schooled by Anthropic for being petty
Turns out, you can't just bully an AI lab because their chatbot gave you a critique you didn't like.
So, the Pentagon decided to go after Anthropic because the company wasn't exactly singing praises about the military's vision for AI. A judge just slapped that down, calling the government's retaliation completely illegal and baseless.
Basically, the defense department thought they could punish a tech firm for having a different opinion. It turns out even the most powerful military in the world isn't immune to basic First Amendment reality checks. Predictably, the government is already gearing up to drag this out in court.
Government bureaucrats really hate it when the smart kids don't follow the party line.
