An Armed Dad On Lunch Break Stopped an Oregon School Shooter

Original version ·

A horrific day in Bend, Oregon, ended with four innocent lives lost, a 16-year-old gunman dead, and an everyday parent doing the unthinkable.

A 16-year-old chucked a pump-action shotgun over a school fence, shot at a passerby who yelled at him, and stormed into an elementary school. The shotgun belonged to his mother. In a matter of moments, three children and a teacher were dead, and two others were critically wounded.

Police dashed over immediately, but someone else was already inside. A local dad on his lunch break saw the teenager break into his daughters' school with a shotgun, pulled his own concealed firearm, followed him inside, and took him down. By the time officers breached the doors three minutes after the 911 call, the shooter was dead and the threat was over.

A parent on his lunch break should never have to be the final line of defense between an armed teenager and a classroom full of elementary schoolers.

Bought by his mother. When are we going to actually start holding parents criminally responsible for handing shotguns to unstable teens? absolute tragedy.
