Zohran Mamdani drops 170k pages of NYC files: The air was toxic

Original version ·

Nearly 25 years later, the truth about the post-9/11 air quality is finally coming out.

It turns out the city government had receipts, and they were hiding them for decades. NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani just dumped over 170,000 pages of documents that prove officials knew the air quality was dangerous while they were busy telling everyone it was totally fine to breathe.

We are talking about memos explicitly discussing how to dodge lawsuits while people were getting sick. The reality is that more people have died from illnesses linked to the dust than died on the day itself. Jon Stewart, who has been carrying this torch for years, called out the obvious: the city basically let everyone breathe poison while pretending it was just fine.

It is wild that it took nearly a quarter-century for someone to stop the cover-up and actually release these papers. History has a funny way of making "official statements" look like total garbage eventually.
