The Navy might ditch a hero to name a carrier after Trump

The US Navy is reportedly considering a switch that has a lot of people scratching their heads. They had already committed to naming a massive new aircraft carrier after Doris Miller, a Black sailor who became a legend by manning an anti-aircraft gun during the attack on Pearl Harbor—despite having zero training for it. He literally saved his captain’s life while under fire.
Now, word is the brass is mulling over stripping Miller's name from the ship to rebrand it after Donald Trump. This isn't just a minor clerical shuffle. Miller would have been the first Black sailor and the first enlisted man to have a carrier named for him. The family didn't even get a heads-up, which is a hell of a way to handle a legacy.
Apparently, ships have never been named for sitting presidents, but why break a tradition for something meaningful when you can break it for a vanity project instead?
