Missouri Can't Decide Which Map to Use, and the Supreme Court Is Tired of It

Original version ·

Everything is fine in Missouri—if by fine, you mean total election chaos.

So, Missouri politics decided to turn into a literal dumpster fire right before the election. The state tried to roll out a new, super-partisan congressional map, but the courts keep playing hot potato with it. The U.S. Supreme Court just shut down the latest attempt to force this map through, and frankly, they seem pretty fed up with the back-and-forth.

The wildest part? The state already ran their primaries using the map that nobody can agree on. Meanwhile, the Secretary of State, Denny Hoskins , is out here telling everyone to listen to a federal judge while ignoring the state’s own high court. It’s reached the point where the state supreme court might actually hold him in contempt. It's truly impressive to watch an entire state government treat basic election logistics like a game of musical chairs.

Apparently, the law is just a suggestion until someone gets bored of the arguing.
