Kyiv hit by ballistic blitz; Ukraine responds by sinking a ship

Original version ·

It was a wild 24 hours: Russia rained hell on Kyiv, while Ukraine decided a giant Rosatom container ship belonged at the bottom of the sea.

The capital woke up to a nightmare as Russia launched a massive barrage of missiles and drones. Apartment buildings are trashed, a school is wrecked, and even the Lithuanian Embassy got caught in the crossfire. Volodymyr Zelensky Zelensky is calling for more help, but Donald Trump Trump is playing coy about handing over more missile tech, worried it might somehow backfire.

Meanwhile, in the Black Sea, Ukraine decided to balance the scales by sending a massive Rosatom container ship to the ocean floor. The company is predictably calling it "piracy," but it’s hard to stay sympathetic when they were just hauling frozen food while missiles were busy tearing through city blocks.

Nothing screams "business as usual" like being a merchant vessel and getting turned into an artificial reef during a ballistic missile war.

Wait, so we're just sinking civilian ships now? This is getting way too close to a wider conflict.
+4 solidA classic display of pearl-clutching over the logistics of war, as if the missiles were delivered via polite courier

Good. If they can bomb schools, they can lose their cargo ships. Simple as that.
+2 emotionalA refreshing dose of 'an eye for an eye' logic that ignores the Geneva Convention in favor of pure, unadulterated catharsis
