Kushner and Witkoff Take Their Commuter Flight to Peace

Original version ·

It turns out the road to diplomacy involves a quick layover in Moscow and a train ride to Kyiv.

So, Donald Trump’s guys, Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, just pulled off the ultimate diplomatic hopscotch. They spent Saturday hanging out in Moscow with Vladimir Putin, then hopped a flight to the border and took a train straight into Kyiv to chat with Volodymyr Zelensky.

The two sides even managed a 72-hour pause on the violence, just to let the envoys move around without getting caught in the crossfire. Zelensky decided the best way to set the mood was a tour of a bomb-damaged cathedral, which is certainly one way to keep the conversation grounded. The entire logistical operation is basically a high-stakes real estate deal with a much higher body count.

Nothing says "we have a plan" like a weekend itinerary that covers the two most hostile capitals on the planet.

Wait, did they just use a 72-hour ceasefire as a travel permit? Wild.
