Keffe D finally convicted for the murder of Tupac Shakur

Original version ·

Turns out writing a tell-all memoir about how you orchestrated a legendary murder is a pretty terrible legal strategy.

After nearly three decades, a jury has finally decided that Duane "Keffe D" Davis is responsible for the death of Tupac Shakur. The wildest part? He essentially did all the prosecution's work for them. For years, Keffe D went on every platform imaginable—interviews, YouTube, and his own book—bragging about how he provided the gun and the orders to his crew to go hunting for the rapper.

His defense team tried the classic "it was all just fiction to sell books" angle, but the jury wasn't buying it. He literally turned his own ego into a confession. He wasn't the guy who pulled the trigger, but he was the guy who made the drive-by happen. He sat through the verdict with a straight face and walked out throwing a fist in the air, seemingly unbothered that he’s headed for a long stay behind bars.

Sometimes the person who wants to be the star of the story is the one who ends up writing their own prison sentence.
