Unmarked graves found at Juvenile Detention Centers across the US
Researchers just unearthed a nightmare hidden in plain sight near facilities meant to 'correct' kids.
So, researchers went digging—literally—and found out that Juvenile Detention Centers across 29 states are basically cemeteries. We are talking about over 1,000 children buried in unmarked plots right next to where they were supposed to be getting rehabilitated.
In one specific site in Maryland alone, they found the remains of 230 Black boys. The scale of this systemic neglect is absolutely staggering, yet most of these sites have been treated like they never existed.
History really has a way of burying its mistakes until someone bothers to pick up a shovel.
