Israel tells Tyre to pack up, completely ignoring Iran's warning

Original version ·

Just when we thought everyone was putting their weapons away for a second, the geopolitical sandbox is back to being completely chaotic.

So, yesterday Trump was bragging about how a historic peace deal was just days away and everyone had agreed to stop shooting. Fast forward twenty-four hours, and the IDF just ordered the historic Lebanese city of Tyre to evacuate immediately.

Apparently, Hezbollah has been setting up shop in the city's Christian quarter, and Israel is not about to let a little thing like a diplomatic timeout get in the way of rooting them out. This evacuation order is happening despite Iran explicitly warning that any further attacks on Lebanon would trigger a massive, crushing retaliation.

But Netanyahu basically said, "We only stopped hitting Tehran because they stopped hitting us, but Lebanon is a whole different story." He made it clear he is not accepting any new equations where proxies get to shoot at them with impunity.

So much for that peaceful weekend.

Evacuating a whole historic city is insane. Where are these people even supposed to go? The Zahrani river is already packed.
+6 solidA rare moment of actual concern for logistics instead of just shouting into the void
