Lowell is throwing a tantrum near Hawaii

Original version ·

The Pacific is acting up again and everyone is keeping a close eye on the maps.

So, Hurricane Lowell decided to pay Hawaii a visit. It downgraded from a Category 3, which is a nice gesture, but it’s still packing enough wind to make life miserable. It is currently hanging out near Kauai and Niihau, deciding whether or not to behave.

The meteorologists say it probably won't make direct landfall, but it’s bringing a whole lot of rain and potential flooding to areas that usually stay dry. Think of it as a very damp, uninvited guest that refuses to leave the doorstep until Wednesday.

Mother Nature clearly missed the memo about keeping things chill this week.
