Pete Hegseth is running the Pentagon like a morning show culture war

Original version ·

Turns out putting a cable news personality in charge of the entire US military goes pretty much exactly how everyone thought it would.

According to reporting from The New York Times, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has spent his early stretch remodeling the armed forces into a live-action culture war broadcast.

Instead of sweating over military readiness or global logistics, he has been disproportionately blocking promotions for Black and female senior officers, all while actively purging transgender personnel from uniform.

Generals and admirals spent decades climbing the ladder through combat deployments and staff colleges, only to hit a wall because someone didn't like the demographics of the promotion list.

National defense looks a lot simpler when the primary adversary is diversity among senior staff.
