Hegseth Says Iran War Hit $37.5B, Asks for $70B More

Original version ·

Congress wanted to know where all the military cash went, but Pete Hegseth just wants another blank check.

Remember when military strategy was supposed to follow some kind of logic? Pete Hegseth went to Capitol Hill to admit the Iran conflict has already burned $37.5 billion, but Donald Trump now needs another $70 billion in emergency funds.

When senators pointed out that Hegseth previously claimed Iran's military was completely destroyed, he clarified that 'destroyed' simply means they can still lob missiles at people.

The three-hour hearing ended with Hegseth shouting at Senator Gary Peters and accusing him of 'Trump derangement syndrome' after being called a failure.

Winning a war apparently looks an awful lot like asking for infinite money while yelling at senators.
