The U.S. sends a plane to a place it says is too dangerous to visit
The administration just resumed deportation flights to Haiti, despite the government’s own official travel warnings.
So, the U.S. government just pulled the plug on TPS protections for hundreds of thousands of people, and the first flight touched down in Haiti. Here is the kicker: the State Department still has Haiti at a Level 4 'Do Not Travel' warning. That is the highest risk level, right alongside actual war zones.
They are effectively telling Americans, 'stay away, you might get kidnapped or killed,' while simultaneously putting people on a plane to land right in the middle of it. The bureaucracy is literally sending people back to a place the government says is too dangerous for anyone to be. Meanwhile, people in Ohio are getting ankle monitors just for checking in with DHS.
It’s wild how the government can be so cautious about a tourist's vacation but completely ignore that same danger when it comes to deportations.
