E. Jean Carroll Gets $5M Check From Trump (Plus Interest)

Original version ·

Getting paid by a former president isn't easy, but a final Supreme Court shutdown tends to speed things up.

E. Jean Carroll officially collected her cash after years of legal fighting over sexual abuse and defamation claims.

Once the Supreme Court shut down Donald Trump's last attempt to block the payout, a federal judge ordered the transfer right away. She walked away with the original five million judgment plus an extra $625,000 in accrued interest.

Carroll celebrated on Substack by giving a special, sarcastic shoutout to Trump's lawyer, Alina Habba, for helping make the payday happen.

Nothing completes a legal victory quite like collecting the full check while publicly thanking the opponent's legal team.
