The DOJ is clearing out as the Trump administration hits the exit ramp

Original version ·

Just days after a rough midterm cycle, the revolving door at the Department of Justice is spinning faster than ever.

So, the Department of Justice is basically throwing a farewell party for itself. Jason Reding Quiñones, the guy leading that whole "grand conspiracy" probe, got the boot despite apparently being willing to go after Trump’s favorite targets. It seems he just wasn't the right fit for the new vibes.

He’s not leaving alone, though. John Eisenberg, the assistant attorney general for national security, also handed in his resignation. And let’s not forget Harmeet Dhillon, who dipped from the Civil Rights Division right after her mission to drop election monitors across the country fizzled out. That is three major departures in less than a week.

It’s almost as if the administration realized the job market for high-level officials is about to get a whole lot tighter.
