Joe diGenova quits the hunt for the "grand conspiracy"

Original version ·

The guy hired to uncover a massive deep-state plot for Donald Trump has officially tapped out.

So, Joe diGenova, the man tasked with hunting down the so-called "grand conspiracy" against Donald Trump, just walked out the door. He promised fireworks and indictments within a month when he took the job back in April, but after all that hype, he’s leaving without a single charge filed.

It turns out that chasing shadows is actually pretty hard work. Despite spending over a year trying to prove that federal officials were secretly plotting against the administration, the cupboard is completely bare. diGenova just handed in his letter, wished everyone well, and called it a day.

Sometimes the grandest conspiracies are just grand ideas that never actually happened.
