James Comey just got hit with his third set of DOJ charges

Original version ·

It turns out three really is a crowd when the Department of Justice keeps knocking on your door.

The Department of Justice is back at it again, serving James Comey with a fresh set of federal charges. This marks the third time the agency has come after the former FBI director, this time alleging he leaked national security info to a reporter back in 2016.

The timing is beyond convenient—these charges hit just hours after a judge ruled that Maurene Comey (his daughter) was fired from her role as a federal prosecutor illegally. Apparently, the Department of Justice is playing a very specific kind of game here.

Previously, they tried to nail him for allegedly threatening the 47th president with a seashell arrangement that spelled '86 47' on social media. Yes, really. Between the seashell theories and the leaks, one has to wonder if there is anything left in the playbook.

Targeting the same guy repeatedly until something finally sticks is a bold strategy in the eyes of the law.
