Arizona, California, and Nevada are officially running out of water
The Colorado River is basically screaming for help, and the feds finally stepped in with some massive cuts.
So, the Colorado River is hitting historic lows, and the government just finalized a plan to slash water deliveries to Arizona, California, and Nevada. We are looking at the biggest water cuts in history to keep the whole system from bottoming out.
Think of Lake Mead and Lake Powell like a bank account that keeps getting drained without any deposits. Interior Secretary Doug Burgum basically admitted the reservoirs haven't been this empty since we finished building the dams back in the sixties. Arizona takes the biggest hit, but frankly, nobody is walking away from this winning.
It is wild that forty million people basically rely on a glorified bathtub that is currently turning into a puddle. Nature does not care about your lawn or your almond farm.
