Marimar Martinez was shot 5 times, then labeled a 'terrorist' by DHS
A Chicago teacher is fighting back after the government tried to frame her for her own shooting.
So, a teacher in Chicago got shot five times by an immigration agent named Charles Exum. Instead of offering help, the federal government slapped her with 'domestic terrorist' charges, claiming she ambushed them. They even put out a press release calling her a terrorist that is still live on their website today.
Turns out, the entire story was a fantasy. Prosecutors eventually dropped all charges with prejudice, and an independent report confirmed Exum had zero justification for pulling the trigger. Experts now have evidence showing he shot her while she was actually trying to drive away. It is essentially a case of 'we shot you, so we are going to make up a crime to cover our tracks.'
When the people who are supposed to protect the public decide that lying is a better strategy than admitting a mistake, the concept of accountability becomes a suggestion rather than a requirement.
