Hearing wraps for Charlie Kirk's alleged killer

The preliminary hearing for Tyler Robinson, the 23-year-old accused of killing conservative commentator Charlie Kirk, just wrapped up in Utah. Now everyone is waiting until September for the judge to decide if this officially goes to trial.

The defense spent their time poking holes in the forensic evidence, arguing that DNA analysis on a rifle is never a hundred percent certainty. But the expert on the stand still identified Robinson as a possible contributor. On top of that, prosecutors presented text messages and testimony from Robinson's roommate and partner, who revealed the alleged shooter had already confessed to the murder.

With prosecutors officially seeking the death penalty, a recorded confession to a roommate leaves the defense team with an impossibly steep hill to climb.
