Trump team quietly scrubs scientific integrity rules from the Census Bureau

Because apparently, the only thing better than reliable data is data you can massage until it says exactly what you want.

The Census Bureau just quietly gave itself permission to ignore scientific integrity rules. After a report linked to a Trump-aligned think tank dropped, the agency decided the old restrictions against political interference were just getting in the way.

They literally deleted the language that prevents politicians from messing with the data. It’s a bold move if the goal is to make sure the math always favors the right narrative. Science is great, but it’s apparently a lot less fun when it refuses to play ball with the political agenda.

Apparently, neutrality is now considered an optional software update that can be uninstalled whenever it becomes inconvenient.
