Racist fight clubs are apparently a thing now, and they just rioted in Belfast

Original version ·

Just when you thought the internet couldn't spawn any more weird subcultures, the recent riots in Northern Ireland have put a spotlight on "active clubs." Yes, they are exactly what they sound like.

The recent racist riots in Belfast weren't just random angry mobs. Investigators are looking into a bizarre global network of white nationalist youth groups called Active Clubs.

Instead of just whining on forums, these guys decided to rebrand fascism as a fitness lifestyle. They recruit members by opening mixed martial arts gyms and organizing fight nights. It is literally Fight Club, but with more swastikas and zero self-awareness.

They pitch it as "self-improvement" and "brotherhood," which apparently translates to doing cardio and then throwing bricks at people who don't look like them.

Replacing online trolling with actual physical training just to be hateful offline is a terrifying level of dedication to being a terrible human being.
